The aim of paper is to analyze the hybrid vigor of mating Guishan bucks with XinongSaanen does. Thirty crossbred bucks derived from cross mating Guishanbucks and XinongSaanendoes were slaughtered to analyze the hybrid vigor. The average pre-slaughter live weight (PSW) andcarcass weight (CW) of 12-month crossbred buckswere about 29.06 kg and 15.86 kg, respectively. Dressing percentage, carcass lean and lean:bone ratio in 12-month crossbred bucks were 51.73%, 79.99% and 3.81, respectively, significantly higher than that of 12-monthXinongSaanenbucks (45.94%,71.36% and 2.68, P<0.05).The carcass bone in 12- month crossbred bucks was about 21.21%, significantly lower than that of 12-month XinongSaanen bucks (26.82%, P<0.05). Lean, bone, fat andlean:bone ratioin 22-month crossbred buck were about 81.31%, 18.99%, 5.53% and 4.3, respectively, and not obviously different compared with that in 12-month crossbred buck. The dressing percentage in 22- month crossbred buck was 57.00%, significantly higher than that of 12-month crossbred bucks (P<0.05). Additionally, the percentages of dressing, lean, bone, fat and lean:bone ratio in 22-month crossbred buck were obviously different compared with that in theGuishan bucks (P<0.05). The aforementioned resultsindicate that cross breeding ofGuishanbuckswithXinongSaanendoes is feasible to improve the meat production of XinongSaanengoats.
