摘要

Space curve meshing theory is a new design theory for gearing mechanism, which is different from the principle of conjugate surface meshing. It transmits power and movement according to pairs of conjugated curves on the tooth profiles. According to conjugated curves, the driving and driven tooth profiles of the new meshing principle gears are constructed to apply to different usage occasion. The progress of space curve meshing theory is introduced in this paper, including the development of the theory, the applications of the theory and the manufacturing of the new meshing principle gears. Some critical issues deserving for further study are also summarized.
