A Back-Feed OAM Antenna of Planar Integration

Orbital angular momentum has a broad development prospect as a vector feature of electromagnetic waves. It can not only improve spectrum utilization, but also increase transmission rate. Its good directivity can also play a significant role in the field of wireless transmission security and confidential communication. Therefore, designing an antenna generator capable of generating vortex waves has become a hot topic in the near future. Focusing on the generation of vortex waves, this paper designs an orbital angular momentum antenna consisting of a 4-element microstrip back-feed rectangular patch antenna array, which can generate vortex waves, which works at frequency 7.6GHz with bandwidth 2.5%. Compared with other uniform circular arrays that generate vortex waves, this antenna is simple in structure and easy to be plenary integrated. It also has higher bandwidth and lower mutual-coupling.
