It makes no doubt in most people's mind that future transportation will become more and more electrical. However the penetration rate of electrification will greatly depend not only on the performance of the system - autonomy being one of the most critical aspects - but also on cost and system reliability. In this paper, a novel system approach for driving 3 phase inverters power stages will be presented. This novel approach brings several key advantages compared to standard solutions in terms of system cost and robustness.
