The failure of clarinet international competition highlights the problems of clarinet teaching in Colleges and universities, such as unclear objectives, ignoring the cultivation of students' comprehensive quality, lacking of teaching content integration, lacking of art practice and other disadvantages. In order to cultivate more excellent clarinet talents and promote the real prosperity and development of clarinet art in China, the main position of talent cultivation is in urgent need of clarinet teaching reform in Colleges and universities. It is necessary to clarify the basic purpose of teaching reform and carry out purposeful, targeted and meaningful clarinet teaching reform activities.
