In this work, we demonstrate the two-phase flow boiling heat transfer coefficient and pressure dropof ammonia (R717) inside a horizontal aluminum multiport tube. The tube has 9 parallel channelswith a hydraulic diameter of 0.96 mm each and the evaporation length is 200 mm. Theexperimental data were performed at saturation temperatures of 6 °C, the heat flux of 3 and6 kW/m2, the mass flux varied from 50 to 150 kg/m2s and the quality up to a unit. The results showthat the heat transfer coefficients and pressure drop are strongly influenced by the mass flux butare slightly affected by the heat flux. To validate the data, the heat transfer coefficient data werealso compared with various correlations in the literature.
