The present paper discusses the interface treatments for heat conduction of composite materials. It is revealed that the harmonic average method (HAM) for the fictitious interface conductivity could result in large errors. To overcome the disadvantage, a method is then proposed for heat transfer in composites with interfaces of different materials, with the discussion for the formation of the numerical failure of HAM. The grid points are set to the positions the interfaces are located. With the new method presented, the fictitious conductivity at the interface normal to the heat flow component in the direction of the specified axis is not required. The heat flow continuity is naturally satisfies by the method itself. The numerical examples show the validity.
