摘要

An easy to use program has been compiled to evaluate parameters for electro-magnets. The code is written in Visual Basic~(direct R) to run in PC-like environmets. Initially, the program was designed to allow a quick estimation of global characteristics for large spectrometer magnets of various types. The code can, however, equally be used for an evaluation of the features of accelerator-type magnets. Characteristics for warm as well as superconducting magnets can be determined. The magnetic potentials are calculated using the conventional set of equations. The program has been designed for interactive user input and is entirely data driven. Data tables with default constants are supplied but may be edited and extended at will by the user. The user input consists mainly of geometrical and electrical requirements. The results contains estimates for coil parameters, volumes, weights, cost, cooling requirements and power consumption.
