Fully-dense Sm_2Fe_(17)N_x bulk magnets of about 8 mm in diameter and 1.5-2.5 mm in thickness were prepared with no binder by the shock compression of magnetically aligned powder pellets. The magnetic properties of the shock-consolidated bulk bodies were measured by using the motor driven vibrating-sample magnetometer (MVSM) under steady fields of up to 15 T. The shock-consolidated Sm_2Fe_(17)N_xbulk bodies had Curie temperature of approximately 475 deg C, and showed the magnetic properties sensitive to driving shock stress, atmosphere, etc. The largest measured value of maximum energy products of the bulk bodies prepared in this study was over 20 MGOe.
