摘要

An important potential application of non-invasive remote-sensing techniques is to monitor plant stress and photosynthetic status (Zarco-Tejada et al., 2003; Dobrowski et al., 2005) and to provide information on the occurrence and intensity of water stress (Goward et al., 2002). In the situation of employing environmental remote sensing, improved knowledge about the relationship between leaf reflectance indices and different intensities of drought is essential for the discrimination of the different status of stress condition of plants. In this paper we present and discuss the results obtained in experiments focused on determining which particular wavebands or spectral indices may be most effective in detecting physiological, water and pigment change induced by differences in drought occurrences. In particular we address two main issues: 1) how spectral reflectance is modified when plants suffer from different levels of drought, and 2) if it is possible to remotely detect physiological changes induced by different stress by sensitive spectral indices.
