1 Introduction: The Problem of Bribery Bribery is commonplace in global business today so much that e.g. the United States Justice Department is waging an aggressive campaign against it. Also in Europe most countries have to deal with the problem of corruption and several activities are started battling corporate bribery. In US the foreign Corrupt Practices Act prohibits American companies and foreign companies whose securities are traded on exchanges in the United States from bribing foreign officials to attract or to keep business.
