The formation behaviors of non-metallic oxide inclusions in Fe–Al–Ti alloy have been studied.Firstly,the oxide stability diagram has been measured at 1873 K,especially focusing on the boundary between Al2O3 and Al2TiO5 stable regions.However,the oxide phases contacted with molten metal were not simple Al2O3 and Al2TiO5,but Al2O3 phase containing TiOx and TiOx phase containing considerable content of Al2O3.Secondly,the deoxidation experiments have been conducted with various Al and Ti contents.Morphology,density and composition of formed inclusions were analyzed and the formation behavior of various kinds of inclusions was discussed.The observed compositions were similar to those observed at the interface between the molten metal and the oxide pellet after equilibrium.
