Ultra-fine Grained TRansformation-Induced Plasticity (UFG TRIP) 0.16%C-6.0%Mn-2.0%Al-0.08%V steel was obtained by cold rolling and intercritical annealing.The microstructure contained a large volume fraction of retained austenite after intercritical annealing at 700°C,720°C,740°C and 760°C for 180s.The ferrite and austenite grains had a submicron grain size.VC carbide precipitates were identified by TEM-EDS.This type of UFG steel has an excellent combination of tensile strength and total elongation.
