In this paper,reduction kinetics of REE-Fe-Nb deposit pellets containing carbon was studied by means of thermogravimetry in nitrogen atmosphere at the temperature of 950 °C ~1100 °C.Experimental data resulting from the reduction process were analyzed dynamically by virtue of a particle-modelling kinetic equation.In the experimental conditions,the whole reduction process could be divided into two stages.The reaction rate of reduction process is controlled by the step of gas inner diffusion through the layer of reduction iron product,and the reaction rate constants of the two stages are different.The resultant rate equation for the reduction process was obtained by calculating with Arrhenius formula.Reaction apparent activation energies in the two stages are 112.56KJ·mol-1 and 190.11KJ·mol-1 respectively.
