摘要

Plant Design System (PDS) is a powerful too that can be used from probject conceptional stage to plant commissioning and maintenance stage. PDS is currently very popular in amny large consulting firms dealing with design of industrial plants. It offers a common ground for interaction in a multi-disciplinary environment of engineers from different disciplinnes. This paper outlines the successful attempt to link the plant design, and structural analysis and design process wherein the models developed by pant designers can be transfrred to a structur analysis program (Space Gass) and vice versa. Also listed area a few limitations of the entire two-way transfer process. It is prossible to use PDS system as a valuable structural engineering tool in future.
