Bruce Power's Inaugural Learn at Work Week

In September 2018, the Bruce Power Leadership Development team, in partnership with the Training Division, held its first Learn at Work Week. Learn at Work Week is The Institute for Performance and Learning's, formerly The Canadian Society for Training and Development, annual celebration to promote the importance of workplace learning and performance to key stakeholders and employees in the organization. Bruce Power celebrated this event from Sep 17-21 2018. Bruce Power annually spends over $130 million on its formal training program for employees. Yet career development shows as an area of opportunity in the employee Engagement Surveys. Workplace learning has a major impact on job performance, productivity and employee engagement. Recognizing that learning and development don't happen only in the classroom, we introduced the concept of Learn at Work Week at Bruce Power to increase social collaboration and increase informal learning opportunities within Bruce Power. As a part of the week, we organized multiple events across the Bruce Power and invited employees to attend. Some the events included:
