Ensuring continued Nuclear operations in the UK is dependent upon having people with the right skills, knowledge and experience. Within the energy sector, and within engineering in general there is a skills gap, therefore creating a need to train significant numbers of new entrants into the industry. Engineering UK estimate this need at 1.86m new people by 2020. This drives the requirement to attract talent from a wide and diverse background. As an aid to attracting, retaining and continuously improving talent, whilst ensuring skills development, EDF Energy have created a diverse learning environment to ensure people are not only equipped for the role but also to drive business performance in a people centric way.
