The BPMSA is the papermaking machinery division of Picon, the lead association which also represents the printing, publishing and paper converting sectors. A key role of the BPMSA, apart from providing commercial support services to our members, is to communicate their views on the major issues affecting the UK papermaking industry. The BPMSA are also closely involved in standards development. These are the standards that we associate with the British Standards Institution (BSI), the Comite Europeen de Normalisation (CEN) and the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO). I will be drawing on the views and experiences of our 30-plus members, and on my 40 years in the industry, principally working with Voith, and my recent experience representing the machinery manufacturers on various European standards development committees.
