The impedance of Tapered Slot Antennas in an infinite array have been calculated by using full-wave method of moments techniques to assess the effects of key design parameters, including dielectric substrate permittivity. The slotline cavity is found to be extremely important to the operation of the antenna, and dielectric loading is seen to improve the resistance. For a fixed overall depth of the antenna, adjustment of the exponential opening rate and the slotline cavity size provide substantial control over the resistance and reactance of the antenna. The observed trends can be used to create a new design or to improve an existing design.
