It was observed that movement tracking applications of a RFID are not cost effective due to the fact that it requires large system configuration consisting of three or more RFID readers. In this paper we introduced a new technique, which uses antenna array for RFID readers and measures the received signal strength to locate an RFID tag inside a close premise. RFID readers operating at UHF 866MHz (European standards) were taken into consideration for antenna design in Mentor Graphics IE3D. The major motivation behind the antenna array system is to introduce cost effective tracking of a RFID tag with the help of Received Signal Strength Indication.
