The purpose of this paper is to compare of optimized demand of emergency generators (EGs) for minimizing fuel consumption and EGs model with power grid frequency using a hospital load with a photovoltaic power generation system (PV). When a power failure occurs caused by disasters or utility grid trouble, EGs are installed in a large hospital, that start up within a few tens of seconds after the power failure and supply the power to the whole hospital. In previous work, we have proposed an optimum method of energy scheduling for a combination of the EGs with PV using linear programing due to minimization of fuel consumption for driving EGs as long as possible. However, especially in cloudy sky, the output fluctuation of the PV becomes large, and the influence on PV power balance in the hospital cannot be ignored. This paper presents a comparison of the optimized demand of EGs for minimizing fuel consumption using linear programming and our developed EGs model considering grid frequency with MATLAB/ Simulink using the actual hospital load for one week.
