In this paper an optimal control of a high-dimensional chaotic system for a 4D Hamiltonian hyper-chaotic conservative system is investigated. In comparison to other chaotic systems, conservative chaotic systems have more interesting features like attraction and complexity, which are mostly used in practical systems. In addition, in this paper stochastic chaotic systems which are newly investigated, have been controlled by optimal approach. Pontryagin minimum principle (PMP), as an optimal controlling technique is applied to control chaotic behavior of the system. Through PMP, Matlab bvp4c and ode45 are used to solve the system dynamics and extreme conditions, which are defined based on system equilibria. At the end, numerical simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
