摘要

The corporate product development process is well researched;unfortunately,little research has been conducted on the university technology transfer process, specifically in how to best expedite research into patents that lead to commercial products. It is our speculation that this process cannot be treated like the corporate product development process. To investigate this assertion, we conducted, interviews and concept mapping with academic innovators and technology transfer personnel. This information alo along with cited literature was used to compile a conceptual model specific to the academic technology transfer process. This paper addresses th the specific processes academic inventors utilized in developing patentable technologies.
