A Hands-on Experimental Laboratory for RFID Education

摘要

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology and its use has created a “revolution” in today’s working environment. In order to meet the challenges presented by this emerging area of Automated Identification and to enhance manufacturing curriculum, the AT&T Manufacturing Automation and RFID Laboratory has been established. Its objective is to advance the state of supply chain, logistics, material handling, and automated manufacturing education by adapting and implementing RFID technology practices in the classroom. This paper introduces the development of this laboratory to carry on innovative curriculum activities by providing instrumentation and promoting educational effectiveness by means of hands-on laboratory experiments.
