For the leakage of a mechanical seal water joint, the Six Sigma tool method is used to analyze the fault phenomenon, and the bearing support coaxiality, mechanical seal structural parameters, auxiliary seal design and mechanical seal spring specific pressure are the key factors causing leakage; the relevance of key factors is analyzed, the direction of improvement is determined. The theoretical basis for the leakage is further determined by simulation calculation; the calculation result can also guide the subsequent optimization design. The improved water joint has been verified by mounting and testing.
