摘要

There has been a rapid growth in the number of membrane bioreactor (MBR)rnplants world-wide over the past decade. However, the operational issuesrnassociated with MBRs are not fully understood by plant operators and designrnengineers. A survey of MBR plants, both municipal and industrial, was carriedrnout to determine the challenges faced during day-to-day operations of thesernfacilities. A common result from the survey was that operator input couldrncertainly improve process performance and ease of operation if it was consideredrnin planning and design of MBR facilities. The findings are from both hollowrnfiber and flat-plate MBR plants.
