Recent advance in active itnegrated microstrip leaky-mode array is presented. Both theory and experiment for assessign the variosu types of leaky-mode arrays agree very well in prediction of the pencil-beam radiation characteristics and the frequency scanning directions. One successful example of applying hte leaky-mode array in the microwave vision system is reported.
