摘要

Prediction of CO2 corrosion is required for material selection and determination of therequired corrosion allowance. Several models giving different results for the same input parametersare available and can be used. No international guidelines or standards exist for corrosion prediction.The NORSOK standard M-506 is used by the Norwegian operators and authorities for prediction ofCO2 corrosion. This paper describes limitations and guidance for use of the model in differentconditions and for different systems. All predictions are associated with very large uncertainties andthe trend in the oil industry is a shift in focus from development of prediction models to more focuson effective use of inhibitors.
