This paper discusses the challenges faced during the rehabilitation of reinforced concrete viaducts inSoutheast Alaska. This project is unique due to the exposure of the structures, local weather patterns,tides at the site and the variety of construction techniques used in the original construction. The paperwill discuss some of the challenges faced during the rehabilitation of the structure and the installation ofthe recommended cathodic protection systems.
