摘要

A self-sintering carbonaceous material was obtained by the heat-treatment of a suitable coal tar pitch for the production of high density monolithic graphite. It was pulverised and then compacted into a product using the conventional moulding techniques. The product was then heat-treated to different temperatures in the range of 400 - 2600 deg C. In the present paper, the authors give an account of the sintering behavior of the material and its effect on the characteristics of the resulting product.
