摘要

In recent papers radiation with non-linear dependence on electron beam intensity has been reported. It was expressed an opinion that observed phenomenon is connected with atomic excitations of crystalline medium (by the same electrons) and their correlation in non-equilibrium conditions. As known, atomic excitations in a crystal is a collective process that is defined by its Debye temperature. What else can promote this process? Apparently, it is the crystal boundary. Each atom in the depth of the crystal is under the influence of all its neighbors and the resulting forces have not primary direction. However, near the surface there are unbalanced collective forces, especially on the edge of a crystal because of spatial asymmetry. Relativistic electrons entering an oriented crystal will interact with tightly connected atomic fields and must radiate especially strong on the surface of a plate.
