The underlying physics of phenomena such as superconductivity, superfluidity and Bose Einstein Condensation (BEC) is particularly fascinating also in connection with the fundamental issue of the Josephson Effect. Indeed, the great complexity of weakly coupled macroscopic quantum systems deserves great attention also for the deep diagnostic power these structures offer as a probe of intriguing aspects of the states of the matter. The objective of the paper is a qualitative discussion of evidences, clues and ambiguities in the analogies of Josephson phenomena in such different systems. The Josephson effect should not be seen just as a sort of "spin off" of the superconducting state or as a tool for a variety of stimulating applications, indeed it represents a unique powerful probe of fundamental aspects of the superconducting state and of the underlying physics of phenomena which go far beyond the field of superconductivity. The investigations, of both theoretical and experimental nature, on new states of the matter, on Macroscopic Quantum Tunneliug (MQT) and Coherence (MQC) are concrete examples of paramount importance.
