The obtained results lead to the following conclusions: 1. Thermodynamic considerations show that the equilibrium conversion of propane to propene in the presence of CO_2 is higher then in the presence of an inert gas. 2. Carbon dioxide exerts promoting effect on dehydrogenation of propane over CrO_x/SiO_2. The yield of propene in the presence of CO_2 is practically twice that in its absence. 3. Proper modification of the acidity properties of the CrO_x/SiO_2 catalyst can suppress the formation of coke. However, the introduction of potassium to the CrO_x/SiO_2 catalyst leads to loss of the catalytic activity.
