Less chlorine dioxide charge DQP Bleaching of bagasse kraft pulp was studied, and a comparison of bleaching results, pulp strength and effluent characteristics of bagasse kraft pulp between DQP and CEH sequences has been done. The results indicated that bagasse pulp can be bleached to the brightness of above 83%ISO by DQP sequence under optimal conditions (charge of ClO_2 was 0.38% and charge of H_2O_2 was 2.0%). Compared with CEH bleached pulp, DQP bleached pulp had better brightness stability, higher pulp viscosity, better strength properties and lower pollution loads.
