We describe the interplay between solitons and their continuum. The long-range soliton interactions caused by the dispersed continuum arises from a cross-phase modulation mechanism and could severly hamper soliton transmission. In this work we highlight frequency chirping as major responsible of continuum generationa dn interaction with the soliton stream in the transmission channel.
