Large-scale enterprise transformation is a phenomenonrnthat affects most industries and organizations in arncomplex and dynamic way. This paper draws onrnmanagement and cognitive engineering domains tornadvance our understanding and develop a model of thernprocess elements that are integral to implementingrnenterprise transformation. Hollnagel's ContextualrnControl Model is called on as a metaphor to specifyrntransformation process factors and how they are relatedrnto the success of enterprise transformation.rnPropositions are developed to describe the relationshipsrnbetween the control modes of enterprise members andrnthe success (or failure) of large-scale, disruptivernchange of complex systems, such as enterprises.
