摘要

Throughout the world, there are many lead and zinc ores, concentrates or by product materialsrnwhich have significant value but also contain, arsenic, antimony, tin and mercury. As regulations on therntransport, exposure, disposition and emission of some these elements have become more stringent; it hasrnbecome increasingly more difficult to derive the values from the resources. Further, many contained elementsrnsuch as copper, nickel, cobalt, germanium, gallium, antimony, tellurium, tin, indium, gold, silver have becomernvalued in recent years. This paper outlines the fundamentals of alkaline sulphide hydrometallurgy and nitrogenrnspecies catalyzed pressure oxidation and the successful application to lead and zinc materials for separations ofrnthese rare metals.
