摘要

Both landfill and recycling of used cathode ray tubes (CRT) have been done in the world andrnwhich way was selected in each country depends on the environmental policy of each country. Almostrn100% of material recycling was achieved in Japan in the past decade. However, recycling of CRT hasrnrecently faced a strong difficulty to continue because a demand of CRT TV has drastically decreased due tornwide spreading liquid crystal display (LCD) TV in the world. Material flow of CRT cullet all over thernworld was investigated and problems of recycling CRT cullet were pointed out in the present paper. Arnpossibility and contribution of lead smelter to CRT recycling have been discussed especially in Japan. Keyrntechnologies have been also pointed out to progress CRT cullet in lead smelter.rn935
