In this paper we give an overview of active terahertz imaging applications. Both the standard pulsed systems and the more cost-effective and compact continuous-wave imaging scheme and their potential markets are discussed. We present examples of terahertz images ranging from dendrochronology and security imaging to biomedical imaging and quality control.
