An important fraction of the future energy demand may be satisfied byrnnuclear power. In this context, the possibilities of worldwide nuclearrndeployment are studied. We are convinced that the Molten Salt Reactorsrnmay play a central role in this deployment.rnThe Molten Salt Reactor needs to be coupled to a reprocessing unit inrnorder to extract the Fission Products which poison the core. The efficiencyrnof this reprocessing has a crucial influence on reactor behavior especially forrnthe breeding ratio. The Molten Salt Breeder Reactor project was based on anrnintensive reprocessing for high breeding purposes. A new concept ofrnThorium Molten Salt Reactor is presented here.rnIncluding this new concept in the worldwide nuclear deployment, tornsatisfy these power needs, we consider three typical scenarios, based onrnthree reactor types: Pressurized Water Reactor, Fast Neutron Reactor andrnThorium Molten Salt Reactor.rnThe aim of this paper is to demonstrate, in a first hand that a ThoriumrnMolten Salt Reactor can be realistic, with correct temperature coefficientsrnand at least iso-breeder with slow reprocessing and new geometry; on thernother hand that such Molten Salt Reactors enable a successful nuclearrndeployment, while minimizing fuel and waste management problems.
