The continuing development of corona treating electrodes is described. Factors of electrode design that affect treatment level and overall system efficiency are discussed. Specific mention is made of the effects of dwell time, power supply frequency, load matching requirements and adjustable vs fixed electrode width. In addition, a review of the ground roll as an electrode affecting treatment levels is included. Finally this paper will show the key role of cooling and ozone exhaust systems to providing consistent treatment, safe work areas and reliable equipment.
