Complex mechanical components can be produced by container manufacturing, filling of the container with gas atomised powder and thereafter hot isostatical pressing (HIP) to near net shape (NNS). To guarantee homogenous properties of such components it is important with an even powder size distribution and chemistry, both throughout the powder batch and in the container. The homogeneity of the powder in the container is not only depending on the gas atomisation process alone but also on homogenisation, storage, and filling. In this paper we will present results regarding the mechanical properties of as-hipped material related to powder properties such as homogeneity and oxygen content.
