The GT24/GT26 fleet has now achieved more than 660‘000 fired hours and 20‘000 cycles, on overrn70 units.rnDevelopment programs in order to enhance the performance and availability of the machine haverncome to fruition. These developments include an upgraded compressor, improved aerodynamics,rnand inlet cooling systems. The technical background of these upgrades is shown along with thernresults of their implementation in the field.rnMost importantly discussion will lead to where the product stands to date based on experiencernduring the last months. These include the fuel operability, start-up functionality, application torncombined cycle (especially ALSTOM’s Single-Shaft reference plant design), emissionrncharacteristics and flexibility of the unit due to the sequential combustion concept, all which creaternthe ability to compete in present day global electricity markets. The unique advantages of this unit,rnnow proving themselves in the deregulated environment, are described. Examples of projectsrnshowing the applicability of this product will be shown.
