Based on the definition of medium-sized cities and positioning analysis of public transport, this paper analyzes the existing problems,the situation and characteristic of transit routes of medium-sized cities, afterwards, proposes the architecture of advanced public transportation system(APTS)of medium-sized cities. Advanced public transportation system(APTS)is also proposed to solve the existing problems of public transport according to the operating characteristic of different transit routes.
