In the threshold regime the crack growth is in the region of a few Burgers vectors,where the discreteness of plasticity may become important.We have developed a discrete dislocation model in order to study the influence of the discrete nature of plasticity on fatigue cracks.It is shown that the prediction of the model is in a good agreement with real material behaviour.
