A novel method for joining of green ceramics has been developed using the softening of the injection-molding (IM) binder in a hot fluid. This results in a hermetically joined ceramic body suitable for use in ceramic metal halide (CMH) lamps. The joining process enables the use of highly complex part shapes with minimal additional process equipment.
