In this study, on the basis of geological and mining conditions of No. 2222 return airway in Sun Chun mine of Xin Wen mining group corp., strata exploring instrument of YTJ20 was adopted for inspecting the zonal disintegration of surrounding rock in deep roadway under high stress. According to the failure information inside the roof rock detected by the strata exploring instrument, rock failures in each drill were respectively drew in one graph, and failure regions whose distance were less than 0.2m were regarded as one partition. The study shows that zonal disintegration of deep roadway under high stress is divided into loosening failure region, crack region and coexistence region fissure and slice, at last, the supporting theory is putted forward according to the failure extent and degree of surrounding rock, and may conduct the bolt supporting design of deep high-stress roadway in term of the deformation character of surrounding rock.
