The 7th National Games of Peasants will be held in Nangyang city in 2012, which will be a good opportunity for Nanyang to show its strikingly elegant demeanor, enhance its image and further promote the rapid development of the regional economy. The 7th National Games of Peasants will do to the city's development in the construction of stadium and basic facilities, advertisement effect and regional economic development based on the analysis of the contributions. This paper aims to give some suggestions in preparing for holding the Game successfully and promoting the sustainable development the city as a whole. The suggestions are as following. Stick to the sustainable developing strategies in construction of the stadium and the city, orientate to the market with guidance of the government. Cultivate chains of sports industry actively to make them stronger; make best use of the opportunity of the Game to accelerate the construction of the basic facilities and necessary accessories of tourism; design some new sports tourism products, and develop the local real estate, etc.
