The Galileo navigation system,under development by ESA,will provide six world-wide services,with high levels of real-time performance:availability,accuracy, continuity and integrity: rn1.Open Service(OS),providing basic global positioning and timing services. rn2.Safety-of-Life(SoL)Service,providing an integrity service with a time-to-alert limit of a few seconds,authenticated within the Open Service signals. rn3.Public Regulated Service(PRS),providing global positioning,timing and integrity services to which access will be controlled. rn4.Commercial Service(CS),providing in relation with Galileo Operating Companies (GOC SC):data dissemination services,which may be encrypted,and a navigation signal to which access may be controlled. rn5.Search and Rescue Service(SAR),which relays distress signals from Search and Rescue beacons,and disseminates responses to distress signals rn6.External Region Integrity Systems(ERIS), providing of integrity data generated by regional integrity system external to Galileo.
