Offshore oil production is known to demand high performance materials used in equipments and machinery due to severe environmental conditions. Poly vinylidene fluoride (PVDF) has been used as the internal pressure sheath layer in unbonded flexible pipe for oil and gas exploitation when HT/HP conditions are found since it is resistance to most chemicals encountered in such operations, to moisture and high thermal resistant. An increase in the use of PVDF in such installations has been observed and hence an increase in the waste generated. A possible solution to this environmental issue would be the re-use of the recycled PVDF by reprocessing primary PVDF waste together with the neat one. Therefore, PVDF_(neat)/PVDF_(waste) blends loss and storage modulus were evaluated as well as the influence of aging time period and waste composition in these properties, before and after thermal aging.
